
Plaid Throw Ophelia Mikkelson Jones x Colourist Weaving
A unique plaid woven throw made in collaboration with artist Ophelia Mikkelson Jones. Ideal as a lounge room throw, picnic rug or for a child's bed.
Features:
• Handwoven with pure New Zealand Wool, with highlights in fine Merino Alpaca & Silk produced from a textile mill based in the Hawkes Bay
• Dimensions: 101cm wide x 104cm long, plus tassels 6cm at each end
• Tabby/plain weave
• Hand finished with hemstitching
• Woven on my Jack floor loom in Tairua on the Coromandel Peninsula
Care guide:
Cold hand wash with wool detergent & dry flat in shade (wash infrequently)
Woven for Ophelia’s exhibition at Parlour Projects a contemporary art gallery in the Hawke’s Bay. Our weaving is inspired by Agnes Martin’s grid painting, Friendship (1963), patterns found on picnic blankets and Ophelia’s colour palette.
